Managing Assets

Managing your assets within equipment.

Equipment provide a way for high level information to be shared across multiple assets. This makes management of your stock easier. Depending on the equipment stock type you have selected, stock is managed differently.

Serialised Asset Management

If you select Serialised as the stock type for the equipment, this means that each asset within the equipment will have there own serial number. It is recommended that you put an asset tag onto each of these items to make it easier to track them.

Adding Assets to an equipment

The below explains how to add serialised assets to the equipment.

  1. Inside an equipment, press the Add Stock button.
  2. Get a new asset tag label and place it on the pyhsical stock.
  3. Scan the asset tag on the pyhsical device.
  4. Enter the serial number of the asset into the serial number search bar.
  5. Press Submit

Repeat this process until all the assets you want to add into the system have been added.

All assets are immediately added to the system. You don't need to confirm the adding of assets.

Removing a serialised asset from an equipment

To remove an asset from an equipment, press the delete icon on the asset tag inside the Stock table on the equipment page. This will ask you to confirm this actions.

Once an asset is deleted from the system they are perminantely deleted along with all it's history.

Bulk Stock Asset Management

Bulk Stock equipment does not have asset tags assigned to them. Items typically marked as bulk stock include: Bolts, keys, Clamps, Scraps and more. When the stock type is marked as Bulk Stock the Add Stock button will open a modal that allows you to add stock as an amount. There is no unique identifer marked on the stock. Individual asssets doesn't have job history assigned to them either. Removing stock is the same process and adding it.
